Happiest at the wheel
Inspired by the ceramics of ancient Persia, China and the world around us most of my work is thrown on the wheel and classical in form. My most recent work has been inspired by sea urchins.
With a great love of the incredible potential of glazes, decorating and firing techniques, my work is mostly stoneware fired, although I also enjoy experimenting with earthenware and raku firings.
My new domestic range has developed since spending time in Denmark and embracing all things 'Hygge', meaning comfort.Being a keen cook, I make my sure my pots are all food safe and can be put in the oven, microwave and dishwasher.
Since obtaining my City and Guilds in Ceramics and Design many years ago, I have taught ceramics at Tunbridge Wells Adult Education Centre. I'm a member of The Society of Women Artists and exhibit with them at The Mall Gallery in London every year. I'm also a keen and active member of the Kent Potters Association. My work is sold at Art in Clay, Hatfield House and Farnham, and in exhibitions and various galleries in London and the South of England.
